Chest press is a compound exercise that is included in a majority of workout programs because it works the major muscle group of your chest, shoulders and triceps. The Total Gym chest press performed from a seated position is very similar to any form of dual cable chest press in that resistance comes from two cables which must be controlled in addition to being pushed. On the Total Gym you can not only modify the resistance from changing the angles resistance but you can also change your orientation on the Total Gym bench. By switching from a seated to a kneeling position you can dramatically increase the amount your core works.
