Push Back Lunges

The best exercises are often the most practical and push back lunges are very practical. You can use your body weight only and still get an effective leg workout with push back lunges but using any form of resistance will allow you to really work your glutes, quads and hamstrings. Another benefit with push back lunges is you can perform them explosively which not only increases your lower body power, but works the type II muscle fibers which are not used very much during slower endurance activities. Push back lunges are a great addition to any leg workout program and are most effectively used during the late part of your workout.
