While the power sled isn't the most common piece of fitness equipment in the
average corporate gym, they pop up now and again in specialist training centers.
Yes, the most common use is with athletes but this doesn't mean that the average
person will not benefit from doing power sled exercises which include far more
than solely sprinting.
The power sled is a great alternative to standard resistance training
especially for those who enjoy outdoor exercise. The power sled can be used on
basically any flat surface such as a grass field, dirt road or even a cement
parking lot. Exercises can be performed with an explosive emphasis but they can
also be performed slow and controlled as well.
Safety Considerations to be Aware of during Power Sled
The power sled is a hunk of metal that will be sliding across whatever
surface you use it on. If the surface is especially slick or you have little
weight on the sled (less friction) be careful that you do not pull the sled into
your self as you could get hurt.
