Piriformis syndrome is a common problem among the increasingly sedentary
world population. It can lead to impairment of optimal movement as well as
sciatica and a host of other problems. One way to combat it is to perform
piriformis SMFR (Self MyoFascial Release) on the foam roller. You can perform
SMFR on your piriformis at the beginning or end of your workouts. If you have
especially tight piriformis, make sure you take your time and follow the SMFR
with the static piriformis stretch.
