Medicine balls are great for explosive power exercises. Spiking (propelling
it hard at the ground so it will bounce back) the medicine ball requires a lot
of energy. While the medicine ball wood chop
simply goes through the motion, returning the ball to the original position,
these medicine ball wood chop spikes release the energy with the medicine ball
as it is slammed to the ground. The exercise is most effective when used with a
trainer or workout partner but cal also use a bounder. Without the help of a
mechanism of ball return, this exercise is less effective.
