Sit-ups are somewhat of a forgotten abdominal exercise because they are often
performed improperly and for the wrong reasons. Although sit-ups may not be the
best abdominal
exercise, they surely are essential for anyone involved in a sport which
requires someone to 'sit up' from a lying position on the floor. Adding a
dumbbell shoulder press exponentially increases the difficulty of sit-ups as
they add a second muscle group as well as increased resistance for the
abdominals and hip flexors. These dumbbell press situps are not for the
beginner.
