Combination Exercises Videos
What are Combination Exercise Videos ?
Combination exercise is a generic name for an movement which is essentially 2
exercises in one. Combination exercises have became popular in recent years as
people have been moving away from the isolation exercise heavy traditional
routines to workouts which are more functional.
Although 'functional training' is a word which has been thrown out a lot
lately and is beginning to lose meaning most combination exercises are
functional exercises. Functional exercises are supposed to mimic activities of
daily living and most combination exercises do just that as they involve
simultaneous upper and lower body movements.
Why Combination Exercises ?
The reason to perform combination exercise is simple; maximize your time.
Many personal trainers consider these
exercises to lose weight quickly
as they squeeze in as much work for your muscles as possible in a short amount
of time. These exercises are not for everyone as they can require quite a bit
coordination and be very strenuous.
Combination exercises are especially effective for helping bust through a
training plateau, improve muscle endurance and those who simply want to achieve
a goal in the quickest amount of time. Working small muscle groups at the same
time as the larger lower body also gets your heart rate up quickly, providing a
circuit-training effect which can help improve your cardiovascular system as
well.
Safety Precautions for Combination Exercises Videos
Since combination exercises require you to basically do 2 exercises at the
same time, knowing the proper form of the individual exercises is a prerequisite
for anyone who wishes to benefit from combination exercises. These are
definitely not for the beginner so be smart, take your time, learn each
individual exercise before you attempt to perform 2 simultaneous resistance
training exercises.
The primary precaution with most of the combination exercises is foot
placement. Whether you're doing a squat, lunge or step-up making sure you step
in the proper place will ensure you don't trip and fall. Falling with a pair of
dumbbells can be dangerous regardless of position. Especially be careful when
performing combination exercises with a step-up. Make sure the step is set at a
manageable height and take your time. None of these combination exercises is
meant to do fast so a slow and controlled tempo is a must to get the most
benefits.
